Unemployment and Well-being

International Workshop

The workshop presents recent research on unemployment and well-being. Theoretical and empirical work from different disciplines – in particular economics, psychology and sociology – is very welcome.

The scientific committee encourages in particular submissions of papers on the following topics:

  • the impacts of unemployment on cognitive, psychological and emotional well-being as well as on health
  • resilience, coping resources and coping strategies
  • subjective well-being, job search and labor market policies
  • methodological progress in the collection of data on subjective well-being
  • study design and causal identification of well-being effects

  • You will be notified on acceptance of your paper by 15 November 2017.

Accommodation, travel costs and workshop fee

  • Presenters of accepted papers will receive a travel grant, which is limited to a maximum of € 300 each. There will be no fee for presenters of accepted papers.
  • For all other participants the workshop fee will be € 100 (to cover costs for meals and refreshments during the workshop as well as the workshop dinner).
