The IAB annual report offers an annual review of organisational changes and achievements in the scientific and publication fields as well as of the activities of the Institute. The annual report is addressed to all those interested in hearing the latest news from IAB and is available for downloading free of charge.

IAB annual report 2011

Despite the Euro crisis, the German labour market showed itself to be extraordinarily robust in 2011. Employment reached record levels while unemployment fell even further. As gratifying as these developments were however, they definitely presented IAB's research departments with new challenges. For, as the labour market began to recover, the topic "shortage of skilled labour" shifted more and more into the centre of the public interest. At the same time, the voices of those who attributed the positive developments on the labour market first and foremost to strong growth in precarious employment relationships were increasing in number. IAB addressed both topics intensively in the year of this report, setting up the Working Groups "Skilled Labour Requirement" and "Quality of Employment". These, and other strategic settings of the course of the Institute, are documented in IAB's Annual Report 2011. The report contains detailed information on developments in substance, personnel and organisational matters, and provides an overview of key projects, publications, presentations, events and the advisory services that IAB has provided in this year to academic and professional circles.
