Supervisory and consultative bodies

The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is advised and its work monitored by three different bodies:

The Federal Employment Agency / Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs

The Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales) cover matters related to the labour market portfolio.

The Self-government Board of the Federal Employment Agency

Suggestions offered by representatives of both management and labour as well as local bodies are passed on to the Institute via the Self-government Board of the Federal Employment Agency (Selbstverwaltung der Bundesagentur für Arbeit).

Scientific Advisory Council

Finally, it is the task of the Scientific Advisory Council (Wissenschaftlicher Beirat) to ensure a high level of research and to advise the IAB on matters of conceptual development, methods and strategies.
