Abstract

"Against the background of globalisation, digital and demographic change further training of employees is becoming more and more important. This also applies to persons with a migration background. However, participation in further training still differs markedly between different groups of employees. By using data from the German Socio-Economic Panel (GSOEP), we investigate the training participation of dependent employees with and without a migration background. In particular, we focus on the following questions: How does training participation differ between migrants of the first and the second generation? To which extent do men and women as well as employees with different skill levels participate in further training? Which factors (e.g. sector affiliation, occupational status) exert an effect on training participation?" (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
