European Labour Market Barometer strengthens
The European Labour Market Barometer recorded its third consecutive increase in April, rising by 0.2 points. It thus stands at 100.5 points and is consolidating in positive terrain. Both components of the leading labour market indicator of the European Network of Public Employment Services and the IAB rose in April. Following an increase of 0.1 points, the employment component stands at 101.8 points. The employment outlook therefore remains favourable. The unemployment component rose by 0.4 points to 99.3 points. The outlook for unemployment is consequently only slightly negative. “The European economy is fighting its way out of the slack period. The mood among European labour market services is on the rise", explains Enzo Weber, IAB head of forecast.
